Leaks and rumors surrounding iPhone 5 have reached a fever pitch. The latest comes from a Chinese manufacturer who claims to be in possession of an iPhone 5 case.

A leaked casing picture that is doing rounds on the internet shows the upcoming smartphone with a larger screen, probably close to 4-inch. It also shows a smaller dock connector.

Gizmodo, which earlier discovered an iPhone 4 in a bar prior to its release, speculates it could be a unit smuggled out of Foxconn’s factory.

Before the announcement of any new device, case manufactures commonly receive details so as to begin the manufacturing. The reported case maker apparently has many case designs on its website that are labelled iPhone 5.

It cannot also be ruled out that the leak is just a custom-made test prototype based on the rumored specifications.

“Maybe that’s why they are not showing it up close and not making a big deal out of it. The iPhone shows iOS running with a weird combination of icons, including the old Maps icon,” Gizmodo notes.

Apple which already announced iOS 6, is yet to go public on the iPhone 5 release date. Reports however claim that the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini might have a September release date.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 5 is rumored to have iOS 6 operating system, new Apple 3D mapping system, video chat, 4G LTE, 4-inch plus screen, tall and slimmer than its predecessors, NFC like feature Passbook app, a 8-megapixel camera sensor and improved version of Siri with multiple language support.
