Ever wondered how a ragtag group of militiamen were able to defeat the entirety of the 18th century British army during the American Revolution? The element of surprise, of course, and that’s what Assassin’s Creed is all about.
Much of the classic find-and-kill gameplay you’ve come to expect from the series is here, but this time around there are plenty of new features being added to the lineup to keep things fresh. From stealth aspects, to combat moves, and even an entirely new way to line up targets, this Assassin’s Creed is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious and comprehensive stealth action titles to date.
Here is a list of the top 3 fresh ideas we can’t wait to see in Assassin’s Creed:
Blending In With Locals
One of the great new things about this game is it will give you the opportunity to escape from the British tyranny simply by blending in with the crowd. If there is a group of men or women talking about something against a wall start to mimic their actions to pretend like you’re a part of the conversation, and watch the red menace walk by like nothing even happened.
If you’ve ever watched an 80’s movie, you’ve probably seen one scene or another where the main character gets involved in a chase, and it takes them through someone’s house or place of business while they scream on in the background. Well now you can reenact this famous trope on your own with Conor, and take the shortcut through people’s open windows into their homes in order to evade pursuers.
Although the mechanic to kill enemies from cover has been available since Ubisoft since pioneered the technology back in 2001 with Sam Fisher on Splinter Cell, they have just now decided to integrate it into the AC games. Personally I couldn’t be happier to see it return, as now I’ll be able to sneak out from various corners, trees, and low bits of brush in order to surprise my targets and pull off kills with all new levels of flourish and gusto.
Some unsure moves and potential risks are being taken with this most recent entry into the Assassin’s Creed storyline, and I for one am more excited than ever before to see what direction the studio plans to take this time. Assassins Creed 3 will drop on Xbox360, PS3, and PC on October 30th of this year.
