The iPhone 4S perhaps is the best device of Apple as of the current market trend. Although it has a great fan following in the world, the norm is slowly changing. Consumers do not any more think flaunting an Apple logo is a mandated choice. There are equally powerful handsets to lay hands on. HTC One X is one of those devices that fall in the supreme category.
The new HTC One X is among top Android phones at the moment alongside Samsung Galaxy S3. We have compared here both HTC One X and Apple iPhone 4S in features and sheer value for money.
The display of a device matters so much for its success or ruin. Both iPhone 4S and HTC One X has one of the best displays as it can never get crisper than these two devices. Simply speaking HTC One X screen seems like a bigger iPhone 4S while viewing, scrolling down, swiping between pages and when playing games.
Yes, the big difference in both of them is their size as HTC One X has 4.7-inch display supported by Super-LCD 2 technology while iPhone 4S 3.5-inch has IPS-LCD embedded in it. When both the devices are viewed in broad day light, HTC One X marginally stands out. Apple’s device however might appear to have an edge when sunlight is directed towards the user’s face. With 312 ppi pixel density one can hardly notice any difference while looking at the text in the HTC One X as it equally matches iPhone 4S’s 330 ppi. In terms of color reproduction, the natural color combination looks top notch while HTC One X might seem slightly saturated but it is the best Android handset when natural colors comes into play.
When it comes to resolution, everything on the HTC’s 720 x 1280 pixel device pops out and looks beautiful while iPhone’S 640 x 960 pixels stays close behind. However, HTC’s viewing angle is simply neat as it is clearly visible when viewed at very steep angles almost diminishing the hue existence. In comparison iPhone 4S’ color accuracy falls slightly behind when viewing angles are pitted against HTC’s handset. Bigger screen no doubt comes into play when watching videos and playing games as the screen can be viewed without the need to scroll down.
HTC One X device features a fast camera due to the ImageSense technology embedded in it. The phone can take photos while shooting video which is not the case with iPhone 4S. But the difference can be noticed in terms of image quality. The blacks and whites appear brighter in the photos taken in HTC’s device while iPhone 4S seems to take the crown in terms of sharpness during outdoor photo shots. But when it comes to indoor shots without flash, HTC One X looks the sharpest. Moreover, when the light is bit dim inside the room, iPhone 4S offers best low light picture while One X seems a bit sluggish.
Processor and Performance:
There are two different versions of HTC One X, one is the international version which features quad-core processor while there is AT&T’s LTE supported device sporting dual-core processor. And Apple’s iPhone 4S also features dual-core processor.
If you dint know, the inclusion of more cores is always preferred for multi-tasking. Having four cores means one core can be used to view emails, the other to load flash in a webpage while third and fourth core can offer more space to hold an extra activity, minimizing any disturbance when using a device. And the 4.7 big display surely plays a significant role for multi-tasking
The quad-core 1.5 GHz HTC One X with Nividia Tegra 3, considered to be a powerful chipset, surely makes HTC One X faster than iPhone 4S. Meanwhile, AT&T’s Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core supported HTC One X with LTE support is quite possibly the speediest handset today.
In fact HTC One X’s LTE performance showed the device peaking speed of 35.7Mbps while downloading and upstream of 23.5 Mbps. The normal quad-core enabled version gives up to 21 Mbps faster download speed compared to iPhone 4S which stands at 14.4 Mbps.
Even with LTE enabled, battery life on HTC One X gave up to 10 hrs 35 minutes of talk time. The 1800 mAh battery surely holds more juice in it when compared to iPhone 4S’s 1432 mAh which gives 8 hours talk time. Also, the quad-core HTC One X gives close to 9 hrs 50 minutes of talk time. In terms of web browsing and video playback iPhone 4S beats both the versions of HTC One X battery backup.
Advantages of HTC One X over iPhone 4S:
The HTC’s device has faster CPU clock speed, smaller semiconductor size, thinness, its lighter by 10 g, has DLNA support, faster downloads, HDMI output, radio, NFC, USB mass storage support, faster upload speeds, more RAM memory, has serial shot mode, built-in HDR mode, high screen resolution with bigger display, faster internet browser, option of charging via USB cable and supports Adobe flash.
Advantages of iPhone 4S over HTC One X:
Apple’s device has higher pixel density, more internal storage, dedicated camera button, less body volume, substantially narrower, shorter and direct updates by OS vendor without any lags.
Recently Apple’s iPhone 4S price has been slashed by Sprint. The phone is now $50 cheaper. That is $150 for 16 GB, $250 for 32 GB and $350 for 64 GB model. And $36 activation fee waiver is expected for online orders. The price drop may also be an indication that the next iPhone is around the corner.
Meanwhile AT&T has reduced the price of high-end HTC One X as it now costs $99.99 on contract. And T-Mobile USA has slashed the price of HTC One S for $149.99. The cheaper price tag for T-Mobile version will last until 21 August.
Also Mugen Power Batteries has announced extended battery case for AT&T HTC One X. The new CC-X325SXL Mugen Power 6000mAh battery case extends the life of the AT&T HTC One X by 3.33 times along with additional power from 1800 mAh battery already found in phone.
