Firefox 4.0 Windows Theme Mockups Shows Up in Mozilla

Posted on 28 July 2009

The new Firefox 4.0 really looks stylish and has chrome like structure. Interesting features are being added in Firefox 4.0 version of Firefox.

There is Version A, Where you can opt for Tabs to appear in the bottom of url type box and Version B, where you can opt for Tabs to appear on the Top of Firefox browser.

Advantages of Firefox 4.o:

  • Save Vertical Space
  • Efficiency/Remove Visual Complexity – Right now the tabs have to be connected to something. So we are adding an extra visual element for them to connect to.
  • Shorter Mouse Distance to Page Controls
  • Combo Stop/Refresh/Go Button
  • Typing Location Bar (Green go Bottom)
  • Default Rest State (Neutral Refresh Button)
  • Refresh Button Hover State (Blue Refresh Button)
  • Page Loading in Progress (Red Stop Button+Progress “Line”)

The proposed iconography is mostly colorless. Adding color to these temporary action driven buttons will make it more obvious something is going on.
