Recover Passwords in Google Chrome Browser Using ChromePass

Posted on 11 January 2010

Here is another password recovery tool for Chrome Browser called ChromePass. This small utility allows you to view the user names and passwords stored by Google Chrome Web browser.

The info related to password is displayed in following order: Origin URL, Action URL, User Name Field, Password Field, User Name, Password, and Created Time.

In Version 1.05, one can read passwords stored by Chrome Web browser from an external profile in your current OS or from another external drive i,e from a dead system that cannot boot anymore. But to use this feature you must know the last logged-on password used for this profile, because the passwords are encrypted with the SHA hash of the log-on password, and without that hash, the passwords cannot be decrypted.
