Shiny performance

Sony VAIO VPC-CW16FG belongs to the new CW series of netbooks. This already smart looking notebook is available in five different colours. An Intel P8700 is in the core of the notebook running at 2.53 GHz. The NVIDIA GT 230M with 512MB memory can handle 3D games very well. Installed with 4 GB of DDR3 memory makes this notebook work fast. The touch-pad and keyboard are good and short cut keys are placed intelligently. Screen is bright and vibrant but viewing angles are average. Watching HD content on it is enjoyable and games are fun. Benchmarks showed it can play DOOM3 at 157 fps which is impressive.

The built-in web cam is decent for video conference. Speakers are loud and quality is above average. It features VAIO Gate which adds to its beauty and lets user find programs easily. Wi-Fi communication is fast and dedicated button is provided to turn it on/off. Optical drive is little bit noisy and makes vibrations. Battery life is good considering the dedicated graphic chip. The battery is loose and there is play in the battery compartment when you hold the laptop in your hands.

Overall, it’s beautiful, fast and an all round performer. Easy to carry as it weighs only 2.4kg.
