Nokia’s New Launch: First Internet Radio With Ethernet and Wi-Fi

Nokia Launches its first Internet radio and provides both Ethernet and Wi-Fi to either stream online content or else music from local computers that support UPnP sharing.

The Internet Stick CS-10 in turn is Nokia’s latest USB modem and supplies both 7.2Mbps HSPA 3G and slower EDGE data in the 850MHz North American band as well as both 2,100MHz HSPA for Europe and the remaining 900MHz, 1,800MHz and 1,900MHz bands for EDGE alone. Like many newer modems, no separate driver disc is necessary and the modem will work with Mac OS X as well as Windows XP and Vista.

Mapping and Navigation Service Upgraded by Nokia.

This time Nokia has gone ahead and released their new versions of mapping and navigation service including a new messaging service.

The new features in this release has high-resolution aerial images and 3D landmarks. Also GPS service is included and is closely linked with its PC-based service Ovi.

The ability to purchase turn-by-turn car navigation guidance; instant access to real-time information about traffic in certain countries; access to Wcities, an event guide that gives real-time information for events and movies in some 450 destinations; and the ability to see multiple entrances to the same underground subway stations in certain cities.

And Nokia will also upgrade their Nokia Messaging client so that it integrates email and instant messaging from Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail, Google Talk, AOL Mail and thousands of international ISPs. It also provides a single sign-in on their cell phones. The beta version will be available this month in 12 languages.
